Random thoughts 1
I’m sure there are many people who can relate to seeing their artwork change over the years; whether it be a significant improvement or subtle details that perhaps only you as an artist realize. It’s interesting that for many of us, we tend to adjust our styles based on what other artwork/artist we are studying or admiring at the time. The idea of shifting something and taking pieces of it to use as our own can just be thought of as mixing multiple styles at once and drawing them based on our own fine motor abilities. Of course, one could argue that that in itself is what is considered an “original style”, especially when everyone’s own fine motor abilities and creativity land anywhere on a spectrum and branch of what art is. Perhaps the idea of the skills changing is more pertained to what we find to be easier at the time. Working on something you struggle in is where things change usually but think of how you sit there and pay more attention to something you are more comfortable with drawing-because you understand it more. Let’s take hands and eyes for example, one of the first things people mostly learn to draw is eyes. They become so comfortable with eyes that they are more likely to spend time evening out the details, even experimenting with them which could potentially change the art style in which you present them. With hands, most dread drawing them, and once they find one way to draw them, they stick to that one way because perhaps they feel they haven’t fully mastered that one way of drawing hands. Maybe the skill in itself is not learning ten ways to draw something, but one way first then modifying it to either simple shapes or super detailed micro lines. The contrast of what may be easy with drawing an eye and what is difficult in drawing a hand, can lead to a certain unbalance which causes artist to look to others and attempt to adjust accordingly to a style. An what makes it original is the actual fine motor ability to execute that skill. Don’t mind me, just random thoughts while I sketch 😅

Well, It's official; I signed the papers for my up coming surgery on the 18th.
It's nothing to bad, my doctor wanted to fix the problem early before it potentially got worse (I don't want to go into detail until after the surgery)
Luckily, My doctor is done of my best surgeons in NYC (awards was on Tv...all that and he charges the insurance companies a shit ton of money so it's less out of my pocket ;) )
Anyway, will actually have more time to draw since I'll be in bed for two weeks.
Sweet.
But yeah just a heads up
